General Electric Co. rose $.11 or .5 percent, to $21.11.

Snap-On rose $.35 or .5 percent, to $77.52.

Stanley Works rose $.15 or .2 percent, to $68.88.

Whirlpool Corp. rose $.29 or .3 percent, to $96.90.
