Hospira rose $.04 or .1 percent, to $29.97.

Johnson & Johnson rose $.34 or .5 percent, to $69.99.

Eli Lilly & Co. rose $.40 or .8 percent, to $47.87.

Merck rose $.09 or .2 percent, to $43.93.

Pfizer rose $.19 or .8 percent, to $24.35.
