NYSE stocks posting largest volume increases


NEW YORK (AP) — A look at the 10 biggest volume gainers on New York Stock Exchange at the close of trading:

Alere Inc. : Approximately 3,734,100 shares changed hands, a 473.3 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $1.95 or 10.1 percent to $17.40.

Armstrong World Inds : Approximately 3,707,300 shares changed hands, a 1,235.0 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $1.97 or 3.8 percent to $50.03.

Babcock & Wilcox Co. : Approximately 2,980,000 shares changed hands, a 534.6 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $2.91 or 11.1 percent to $23.34.

Concho Resources : Approximately 4,812,200 shares changed hands, a 492.0 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $6.60 or 7.6 percent to $80.40.

iStar Financial Inc. : Approximately 7,623,600 shares changed hands, a 829.8 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.36 or 4.4 percent to $7.90.

Orient Express Hotels Ltd. : Approximately 5,348,600 shares changed hands, a 561.6 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $1.34 or 11.3 percent to $10.55.

SeaCube Container Leasing Ltd. : Approximately 369,100 shares changed hands, a 595.7 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.97 or 5.4 percent to $17.11.
