ACE L rose $.14 or .2 percent, to $78.02.

Aflac Inc. fell $.76 or 1.5 percent, to $49.72.

American International Group fell $.59 or 1.8 percent, to $31.41.

MBIA fell $.52 or 5.7 percent, to $8.68.

MGIC Investments Corp. fell $.09 or 5.1 percent, to $1.68.

MetLife fell $.59 or 1.8 percent, to $32.00.

XL Group PLC rose $.19 or .8 percent, to $24.12.
