DeVry increases dividend 13 percent to 34 cents

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (AP) — DeVry Inc. is increasing dividend by 13 percent, the for-profit education company said Thursday.

The company will raise its dividend to 34 cents annually, from 30 cents. The dividend is paid twice a year. It will issue its next payment of 17 on Dec. 19, to shareholders of record as of Nov. 30.

DeVry, based in Downers Grove, Ill., run Carrington College, Chamberlain College of Nursing, DeVry University and other schools.

Shares closed Thursday trading down 78 cents, or 3.1 percent, at $24.76, then regained 19 cents in aftermarket trading following the dividend news.
