Walt Disney Co. rose $.05 or .1 percent, to $50.37.

Gannett rose $.41 or 2.4 percent, to $17.45.

New York Times Co. rose $.07 or .8 percent, to $8.55.

News Corp. rose $.05 or .2 percent, to $24.41.

Time Warner Inc. fell $.20 or .5 percent, to $42.84.

Viacom Inc. rose $.29 or .6 percent, to $51.33.
