Dollar slips ahead of US election results
NEW YORK (AP) — The dollar fell slightly against other major currencies Tuesday as traders awaited results from the U.S. presidential election.
The race between President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney is expected to be close. The dollar traded within a tight range throughout the day.
The euro edged up to $1.2817 late Tuesday from $1.2792 late Monday. The British pound rose to $1.5994 from $1.5972.
The dollar slipped to 0.9430 Swiss franc from 0.9435 Swiss franc and to 99.19 Canadian cents from 99.68 Canadian cents.
The dollar rose to 80.42 Japanese yen from 80.26 Japanese yen.
