Walt Disney Co. rose $.74 or 1.5 percent, to $50.52.

Gannett rose $.11 or .6 percent, to $17.37.

New York Times Co. fell $.05 or .6 percent, to $8.75.

News Corp. rose $.16 or .6 percent, to $24.84.

Time Warner Inc. rose $.26 or .6 percent, to $44.06.

Viacom Inc. rose $.13 or .2 percent, to $52.65.
