HOUSTON (AP) — Global Geophysical Services Inc. on Friday named Richard White its new president and chief executive officer.

White is taking the position immediately. He replaces Richard Degner as president and CEO; Degner will continue as non-executive chairman of Global Geophysical and as president of Autoseis Inc., a subsidiary.

Houston-based Global Geophysical provides seismic data to oil and gas companies.

White previously was president of Western Geophysical, CEO of Veritas DGC and CEO of NuTee Energy.

Global Geophysical shares fell 15 cents, or 3 percent, to close at $4.88.
