Caterpillar rose $.23 or .3 percent, to $82.96.

Deere & Co. rose $.07 or .1 percent, to $84.38.

Manitowoc fell $.25 or 1.8 percent, to $13.78.

Terex fell $1.34 or 5.9 percent, to $21.51.
