Aflac Inc. rose $.37 or .7 percent, to $49.81.

American International Group fell $.09 or .3 percent, to $34.84.

MBIA fell $.19 or 1.9 percent, to $9.99.

MGIC Investments Corp. rose $.01 or .5 percent, to $1.86.

MetLife rose $.62 or 1.8 percent, to $35.53.

XL Group PLC fell $.08 or .3 percent, to $25.09.
