Baxter International Inc. rose $.19 or .3 percent, to $61.42.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. rose $.68 or 2.1 percent, to $33.73.

Hospira rose $.37 or 1.2 percent, to $31.16.

Johnson & Johnson rose $.40 or .6 percent, to $71.14.

Eli Lilly & Co. rose $.58 or 1.1 percent, to $51.08.

Merck rose $.42 or .9 percent, to $46.30.

Pfizer rose $.30 or 1.2 percent, to $25.61.
