NEW YORK (AP) — AOL Inc. said Thursday it elected Dawn Lepore to the internet company's board of directors.

Lepore is the CEO of Prosper Marketplace, a peer-to-peer lending website. She had been chairwoman and CEO of online health and beauty retailer drugstore.com from 2004 until 2011, when the company was acquired by Walgreen Co.

AOL shares fell 41 cents to $35.44 in afternoon trading.
