NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top machinery companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Caterpillar rose $1.22 or 1.5 percent, to $85.08.

Deere & Co. rose $.90 or 1.1 percent, to $85.89.

Manitowoc fell $.98 or 6.4 percent, to $14.28.

Terex rose $.08 or .3 percent, to $23.68.
