Reuters reported that executives at Yahoo Inc., the search company, have discussed acquiring the online restaurant reservations company.

Avid Technology Inc., down $1.48 at $6.69

The maker of equipment and software for recording music and video predicted a wider loss and drop in revenue for the third quarter.

Carmike Cinemas Inc., up 66 cents at $13.22

A Caris & Co. analyst upgraded shares of the movie theater chain saying that recent acquisitions will help boost the company.
