NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top oil companies were up at the close of trading:

BP PLC rose $1.24 or 2.9 percent, to $43.54.

Chevron rose $1.09 or 1.0 percent, to $115.18.

ConocoPhillips rose $.50 or .9 percent, to $58.12.

Exxon Mobil Corp. rose $1.01 or 1.1 percent, to $93.39.

Marathon Oil Corp. rose $.69 or 2.3 percent, to $31.33.
