NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top machinery companies were up at the close of trading:

Caterpillar rose $2.15 or 2.6 percent, to $84.96.

Deere & Co. rose $1.33 or 1.6 percent, to $84.56.

Manitowoc rose $.01 or .1 percent, to $13.57.

Terex rose $.61 or 2.7 percent, to $23.28.
