Goldman Sachs appoints Ogunlesi to board
NEW YORK (AP) — Goldman Sachs Group Inc. said Monday that its board appointed Adebayo Ogunlesi as an independent director.
Ogunlesi's appointment was effective Monday. Goldman's board now has 11 directors.
Ogunlesi is the managing partner and chairman of Global Infrastructure Partners, a private equity firm that invests in infrastructure assets in the energy, transport, water and waste sectors. Before that Ogunlesi spent 23 years at Credit Suisse Investment Bank, where he rose to executive vice chairman and chief client officer.
Ogunlesi is a graduate of Oxford University, Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. He served as a law clerk to former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall from 1980 to 1981.
Goldman Sachs plans to appoint an additional independent director to its board soon.
