New York Times Co. fell $.16 or 1.6 percent, to $9.89.

News Corp. fell $.20 or .8 percent, to $24.80.

Time Warner Inc. fell $.22 or .5 percent, to $45.34.

Viacom Inc. fell $1.22 or 2.1 percent, to $55.55.
