Macy's Inc. rose $.14 or .4 percent, to $39.81.

Nordstrom rose $.35 or .6 percent, to $56.40.

J.C. Penney Co. rose $.20 or .8 percent, to $23.97.

Saks rose $.18 or 1.7 percent, to $10.79.

Sears Holdings Corp. rose $1.08 or 1.9 percent, to $58.07.

TJX Companies rose $.08 or .2 percent, to $45.58.
