AA's Eagle airline in deal with maintenance crews

October 05, 2012

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Maintenance workers at American Eagle will vote on a contract agreement reached with the American Airlines affiliate.

The Transport Workers Union said Friday that 1,300 maintenance workers and 10 ground instructors will vote for the next two weeks, with results announced by Oct. 19.

The tentative agreement includes pay raises of 1.5 percent in 2015 and 2016.

American Eagle, American and parent AMR Corp. filed for bankruptcy protection in November and have sought to cut labor costs by eliminating ground jobs, reducing benefits and other changes. Eagle mostly connects passengers from secondary airports to American Airlines hubs.
