Kaplan adds new campus in Maine

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Kaplan University has opened a new campus in Augusta.

It's Kaplan's third campus in Maine, joining other ones in South Portland and Lewiston. The new Augusta school has 19,500 square feet of space and will offer degree programs in business administration, public health, criminal justice legal science and other fields.

Gov. Paul LePage delivered remarks at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday.

Kaplan University is based in Chicago and serves nearly 50,000 online and campus-based students. It has 11 campuses in Maine and three other states.
