ACE L rose $.50 or .6 percent, to $77.86.

Aflac Inc. rose $.90 or 1.9 percent, to $48.43.

American International Group rose $.74 or 2.2 percent, to $34.95.

MBIA rose $.41 or 3.9 percent, to $10.90.

MGIC Investments Corp. rose $.02 or 1.1 percent, to $1.80.

MetLife rose $.76 or 2.2 percent, to $35.02.

XL Group PLC rose $.16 or .7 percent, to $24.71.
