NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top education companies were up at the close of trading:

Apollo Group rose $.90 or 3.2 percent, to $28.66.

Career Education Corp. rose $.11 or 3.0 percent, to $3.75.

DeVry rose $.34 or 1.4 percent, to $23.80.

Strayer Education Inc. rose $.93 or 1.5 percent, to $64.76.
