Comcast Corp. rose $.46 or 1.3 percent, to $35.84.

Walt Disney Co. fell $.43 or .8 percent, to $51.64.

Gannett rose $.08 or .4 percent, to $18.05.

New York Times Co. rose $.01 or .1 percent, to $9.73.

News Corp. rose $.07 or .3 percent, to $24.91.

Time Warner Inc. fell $.20 or .4 percent, to $45.30.

Viacom Inc. rose $.36 or .7 percent, to $54.74.
