NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top coal companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Arch Coal rose $.07 or 1.1 percent, to $6.35.

Consol Energy Inc. fell $.26 or .9 percent, to $30.19.

Peabody Energy fell $.41 or 1.8 percent, to $22.22.
