Hormel Foods Corp. rose $.30 or 1.0 percent, to $29.54.

Kellogg rose $.27 or .5 percent, to $51.93.

Kraft Foods Inc. rose $1.17 or 2.8 percent, to $42.52.

Smithfield Foods Inc. rose $.50 or 2.5 percent, to $20.15.

J.M. Smucker Co. rose $.80 or .9 percent, to $87.13.

Tyson Foods Inc. rose $.69 or 4.3 percent, to $16.71.
