NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top coal companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Arch Coal fell $.05 or .8 percent, to $6.28.

Consol Energy Inc. rose $.40 or 1.3 percent, to $30.45.

Peabody Energy rose $.34 or 1.5 percent, to $22.63.
