Aflac Inc. rose $.12 or .3 percent, to $47.84.

American International Group fell $.35 or 1.1 percent, to $32.85.

MBIA fell $.24 or 2.3 percent, to $10.02.

MGIC Investments Corp. fell $.03 or 2.0 percent, to $1.50.

MetLife rose $.08 or .2 percent, to $34.57.

XL Group PLC fell $.05 or .2 percent, to $24.03.
