NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top silver companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.01 or .2 percent, to $6.45.

Pan American Silver Corp. rose $.41 or 2.0 percent, to $21.05.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. rose $.30 or 2.0 percent, to $15.62.

Silver Wheaton fell $.36 or .9 percent, to $37.65.
