Defense contractor's Colo unit wins $434M deal


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — A Colorado Springs division of ITT Exelis Corp. has been awarded a one-year contract of more than $434 million to provide operations and security support for the U.S. military in Kuwait.

The Defense Department announced the award Tuesday.

No details were released. A spokesman for the company didn't immediately return a call.

Exelis Mission Systems is based in Colorado Springs. The parent company, ITT Exelis, is based in McLean, Va.
