Gannett fell $.40 or 2.1 percent, to $18.36.

New York Times Co. unchanged at $9.58.

News Corp. fell $.08 or .3 percent, to $25.00.

Time Warner Inc. rose $.16 or .3 percent, to $46.06.

Viacom Inc. rose $.15 or .3 percent, to $54.82.
