ACE L rose $.15 or .2 percent, to $76.08.

Aflac Inc. rose $.13 or .3 percent, to $48.31.

American International Group rose $.27 or .8 percent, to $33.90.

MBIA fell $.55 or 4.9 percent, to $10.61.

MGIC Investments Corp. fell $.08 or 4.6 percent, to $1.66.

MetLife rose $.55 or 1.6 percent, to $35.42.

XL Group PLC fell $.04 or .2 percent, to $24.16.
