Nasdaq stocks posting largest volume increases


NEW YORK (AP) — A look at the 10 biggest volume gainers on Nasdaq at the close of trading:

Alvarion Ltd. : Approximately 1,951,500 shares changed hands, a 1,449.9 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.06 or 14.9 percent to $.43.

Bridgford Foods Corp. : Approximately 112,500 shares changed hands, a 14,450.9 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $1.46 or 19.4 percent to $6.08.

Dehaier Medical Systems Ltd. : Approximately 1,125,900 shares changed hands, a 8,884.1 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.91 or 59.1 percent to $2.45.

MEI Pharma : Approximately 518,400 shares changed hands, a 3,163.4 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.18 or 34.0 percent to $.71.

National Interstate Corp. : Approximately 482,300 shares changed hands, a 2,080.5 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.84 or 3.2 percent to $25.71.

Peoples Financial Corp. : Approximately 19,600 shares changed hands, a 1,396.6 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.45 or 4.8 percent to $8.85.
