Walt Disney Co. rose $.66 or 1.3 percent, to $53.32.

Gannett fell $.05 or .3 percent, to $18.69.

New York Times Co. rose $.13 or 1.4 percent, to $9.65.

News Corp. rose $.08 or .3 percent, to $25.30.

Time Warner Inc. rose $.67 or 1.5 percent, to $46.46.

Viacom Inc. fell $.08 or .1 percent, to $54.99.
