Fifth Third Bancorp adds titles to 2 senior execs
CINCINNATI (AP) — Fifth Third Bancorp said Friday that two senior executives will be taking on additional responsibilities.
The bank said that its CEO Kevin Kabat has been given the additional title of vice chairman. He will continue to serve as chief executive officer, a position he has held since 2007, and as a board member.
The bank also said that it has promoted Greg Carmichael, currently its chief operating officer, to serve as both president and COO. The change is effective immediately.
Carmichael has served as COO since 2006 but took on added responsibilities in the years following. With his promotion to president, Carmichael will also be responsible for the Fifth Third's national commercial line of business.
Fifth Third, based in Cincinnati, operates 15 affiliates with 1,320 banking centers.
Its stock was up 4 cents to $15.63 in afternoon trading.
