Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. has appointed Christian Brickman to its board of directors, the beauty products company disclosed Wednesday in a filing.

Brickman, 47, is president of Kimberly-Clark International. He fills one of the vacancies left following the retirement of three directors. This appointment completes the company's board, as it has reduced the board to 9 members from 11.

Sally Beauty said Brickman will serve as a director until the 2013 annual meeting unless he resigns or is removed before that time.

Shares of Sally Beauty rose 49 cents to close at $26.97.
