American International Group rose $.17 or .5 percent, to $34.57.

MBIA rose $.16 or 1.4 percent, to $11.34.

MGIC Investments Corp. rose $.05 or 3.1 percent, to $1.65.

MetLife rose $.09 or .3 percent, to $35.25.

XL Group PLC rose $.12 or .5 percent, to $24.39.
