NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top education companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Apollo Group fell $.25 or .8 percent, to $29.62.

Career Education Corp. fell $.05 or 1.2 percent, to $4.04.

DeVry rose $.06 or .3 percent, to $23.32.

Strayer Education Inc. fell $.40 or .6 percent, to $70.42.
