Local.com changes its name to Local Corp.
IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Local Corp., an online local media company, says it has legally changed its name from Local.com Corp. to Local Corp. effective Monday.
The Irvine, Calif.-based company, which runs www.local.com , said its board approved the name change in August as part of its growth beyond the website business to a more diversified local media business.
The company will keep its "LOCM" trading symbol.
Shares of Local were unchanged at $1.66 in afternoon trading Monday. Over the past year, the stock has traded between $1.42 and $3.25.
