Kroger fell $.03 or .1 percent, to $23.77.

Safeway fell $.14 or .8 percent, to $16.73.

Supervalu fell $.01 or .3 percent, to $2.40.

Whole Foods Market Inc. fell $.49 or .5 percent, to $97.27.
