ND crop production forecasts show little change

September 12, 2012

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Production forecasts for North Dakota's soybean, corn and sugar beet crops have changed little over the month.

The Agriculture Department's September production report estimates the North Dakota sugar beet crop at 5.83 million tons, up 2 percent from the August forecast; corn at 336 million bushels, up 5 percent over the month; and soybeans at 127 million bushels, which is unchanged.

Production of all three crops is expected to be up dramatically over the year. Wet weather and flooding in 2011 cut into production of most crops in North Dakota.
