Kentucky airport receives $2 million grant

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The Pike County Hatcher Field Airport in Kentucky has been awarded a $2 million federal grant.

Pike County Judge-Executive Wayne T. Rutherford's office said notification was received Tuesday of the Department of Transportation grant.

The funds will be used to complete the second phase of taxiway construction.

Rutherford said the work should help the airport qualify for commercial air service.
