NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top tools and appliances companies are up at 10 a.m.:

General Electric Co. rose $.27 or 1.3 percent, to $21.86.

Snap-On rose $.24 or .3 percent, to $72.45.

Stanley Works rose $2.20 or 3.0 percent, to $74.38.

Whirlpool Corp. rose $.83 or 1.0 percent, to $80.48.
