McDonald's global sales by region

McDonald's Corp. said a key global sales figure rose 3.7 percent in August, with its strongest performance coming from the region encompassing Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Here's a breakdown of how much different regions contribute to McDonald's sales:

—United States: 32 percent.

—Europe: 40 percent. (The United Kingdom, France and Germany together account for 50 percent of sales from the region.)

—Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa: 22 percent. (China, Australia and Japan together account for 55 percent of sales from the region.)
