Fairchild Semiconductor names president and COO
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. has named Vijay Ullal as president and chief operating officer, the chipmaker said Monday.
Ullal has 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and worked most recently at Maxim Integrated Products as its group president of its consumer solutions division. In his new role at Fairchild, Ullal will oversee all of the company's operating activities, including product lines, sales and marketing, technology development, manufacturing and supply chain management.
Fairchild said it is a newly created position at the company, which is based in San Jose, Calif.
Shares of Fairchild Semiconductor fell 2 cents to $14.98 in midday trading. The stock is up 24 percent in the year to date.
