NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top machinery companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Caterpillar fell $.62 or .7 percent, to $86.01.

Deere & Co. fell $1.46 or 1.9 percent, to $73.81.

Manitowoc rose $.24 or 1.9 percent, to $12.81.

Terex rose $.08 or .4 percent, to $20.36.
