Walt Disney Co. fell $.29 or .6 percent, to $49.34.

Gannett rose $.01 or .1 percent, to $15.08.

New York Times Co. rose $.10 or 1.1 percent, to $9.21.

News Corp. fell $.18 or .8 percent, to $23.44.

Time Warner Inc. fell $.22 or .5 percent, to $41.64.

Viacom Inc. fell $.13 or .3 percent, to $50.37.
