Dunkin' Donuts to add 29 stores in Texas

CANTON, Mass. (AP) — Dunkin' Donuts said Tuesday it plans to open 29 more of its coffee and baked goods stores in Houston and Waco, Texas, over the next few years with four franchise partners as it expands in the U.S.

Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin' Donuts plans to double its number of U.S. restaurants over the next 20 years. It currently has more than 10,000 restaurants in 32 countries worldwide. At the end of fiscal 2011, Dunkin' Donuts franchise system had 7,015 U.S. points of distribution, including more than 3,100 restaurants with drive-thrus.

Franchisee Daily Grind LLC will develop eight restaurants in Southeast Houston. MM Donuts LLC will develop 11 restaurants in Northeast Houston, Yes Partners LLC will develop five restaurants in West Houston, and Medallion Donuts LLC will develop five restaurants in Central Texas in the Waco, College Station, Temple and Killeen areas.

All restaurants will open between 2013 and 2019.

Dunkin' Brand Group Inc. shares rose 55 cents to end Tuesday trading at $29.25.
