Amgen Inc. rose $.70 or .8 percent, to $84.36.

Biogen Idec rose $1.85 or 1.3 percent, to $147.00.

Celgene Corp. rose $.77 or 1.1 percent, to $72.24.

Gilead Sciences Inc. rose $1.27 or 2.3 percent, to $57.32.
